Uniting a Workforce Through Cinematic Storytelling
Perrigo stands as the UK’s premier provider of over-the-counter health and wellness solutions, operating across three strategically located facilities—one in Devon and two in the Leeds region. With a substantial workforce distributed across these sites, the company faced the challenge of fostering unity and shared purpose among employees who rarely interact face-to-face.
Creative Vision & Inspiration
The brief was clear: create a compelling video that would connect this dispersed team and reinforce their collective identity as part of one dynamic organization. I drew inspiration from Guy Ritchie’s iconic opening sequence in “Snatch”—where each character is dramatically introduced through freeze-frame moments—I developed a visual strategy that would be both memorable and engaging. This cinematic technique captures subjects in their work environment, revealing their role with text as part of their production process.
Production Challenge
The ambitious four-day shoot spanned all locations: two days in Devon and two in the Leeds area. Our mission was to document every facet of Perrigo’s operations, from manufacturing floors to corporate support functions. The narrative arc was carefully crafted, opening with a receptionist at the Leeds depot and culminating with the CEO aboard a departing lorry from the Devon facility—symbolically representing the journey from initial customer contact to final product delivery.
Guerrilla Filmmaking Approach
Without the luxury of location scouting, each site presented a blank canvas requiring instant creative decisions. This constraint became a creative catalyst, forcing innovative on-the-spot solutions for making each employee introduction visually compelling and authentic. The absence of sync sound requirements allowed maximum mobility and spontaneity, enabling us to capture genuine workplace moments while maintaining cinematic quality.
The project exemplified dynamic documentary filmmaking—balancing logistical complexity with creative storytelling to deliver a unifying piece that celebrates both individual contributions and collective achievement.
